The Jewish
Museum: 2009 Deluxe Wall Calendar
The Jewish people have managed to thrive
in diverse, often inhospitable environments, maintaining their
cultural identity through shared values, age-old customs, and
a rich artistic tradition. The extraordinary paintings,
textiles, and ceremonial objects in this calendar reflect a
common heritage without being bound by it. In addition to its
sixteen images, this calendar includes major and minor Jewish
holidays, days of the Jewish year, weekly Torah readings,
candle lighting times, and blessings to be said over the
candles.

Jewish Traditions:
2009 Deluxe Wall Calendar
Sharing traditions of faith is an
expression of commitment, bridging unnumbered generations past
with the young hands of a generation lighting the Shabbat
candle for the first time. Robert Kaufman's photographs
celebrate Jewish Traditions throughout this calendar
which includes Hebrew months and weekdays, as well as candle
lighting times and weekly Torah readings.
Jewish
Celebrations by Malcah Zeldis: 2009 Deluxe Wall Calendar
Malcah Zeldis has a special talent for
portraying the timeless, family oriented traditions of
Judaism, drawing on childhood memories, her experiences of
various Jewish neighborhoods, and her years in Israel to
exuberantly depict the weekly observances, annual festivals,
and ritual milestones that constitute the fabric of Jewish
life and worship. The joyous images are accompanied by an
explanation of the tradition illustrated. The last four months
are grouped on one page, also accompanied by a painting and
commentary. Each month lists Jewish holidays, days of the
Jewish year, and weekly Torah readings. A list of
candlelighting times is also included.
